This time without the ham bone – bacon and Andouille sausage instead.

Ingredients

  • a couple slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, chopped
  • 1 c celery, chopped
  • 1 Andouille sausage, sliced into 1" pieces
  • 2 cups mixed beans, rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can flat beer
  • 5 cups water
  • Spices:
  • Tony Chacheres
  • French Thyme (2 t)
  • Penzey's Pizza spice because I never have oregano (2 t)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • salt
  • pepper
  • turmeric

Instructions

Fry the bacon on saute mode in the IP

Add onions/celery/garlic/jalapeno, cook until onion is translucent

Add the sausage, cook a little

Add spices, tomatoes, beer, beans, water, and stir good

Turn off Saute mode

IS THE SEALING RING IN THE TOP? The bean sealing ring, not the yogurt one.

Close IP and cook on Soup/30 minutes - I assume this is the same as Manual/high pressure?

Natural release

I read another recipe that also used pasta – I only had large shells, and decided maybe another time.
