About This Blog

I started this blog in order to keep track of the many formulas and recipes I was collecting for making ice cream in the summer of 2016. As of July 31, I already have 3 months of 1-flavor-a-week combos and my notes have been sketchy, with a few photos posted to Facebook. I knew I was never going to keep it all organized, and if I tried to reproduce a formula or recipe, I would never remember what my first impressions were without some record of it. Which recipes worked and which failed? Hopefully I’ll be able to get it all posted here for posterity.

In addition, I will probably start adding the recipes from my 1992 cookbook, Aunt Rowena’s Kitchen and Garden, another collection of recipes, family recipes, friends’ recipes, recipes collected from the backs of packages. I might feel obliged to actually make them all so I can report back how wonderful they were and post photos!

I also welcome additions from friends and family! Just let me know.
