B’s Fudge Pie

Another family favorite, served at all the best special occasions – Thanksgiving, birthdays, funerals – you name it. Requested by all who have had it. Fudge Pie.

Ingredients

  • 5 1-oz. squares of unsweetened chocolate*
  • 1 ½ sticks (6 oz.) butter or margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • unbaked pie crust

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350.

Microwave chocolate and butter on low until melted, or melt on stove over low heat.

Mix together by hand: eggs, sugar, cream, vanilla, salt and cinnamon.

Add chocolate mixture.

Pour into crust.

Bake 30-35 minutes.

Notes

* any baking chocolate will do, but the BEST is a brand called Lugar which is made in Colombia and sold in places that sell international foods. Otherwise I use Baker’s unsweetened - bd
